This is for people who would like to borrow our skates for the duration of the adult skate course. You can take the equipment, helmets, pads home and then return it on your final session. You will then receive your deposit back when we receive the equipment back. 

Rental Agreement (which you agree to if you rent this deposit)

The Renter agrees to:

  • Use the equipment off-site solely for its intended purpose—roller skating and indoors only or outside if the weather and floor is completely dry and free of debris. 
  • Return the equipment in the same condition as it was received, fair wear and tear excepted.
  • Carry out a safety check before each use, including but not limited to: Ensuring laces are secure and not damaged Ensuring toe stops are properly attached and not loose Checking for any loose nuts or bolts Confirming that all wheels spin freely
  • Immediately stop using the equipment if any safety issue is identified and inform the Owner as soon as possible.
  • Not remove, modify, replace, or adjust any parts, including wheels, toe stops, bearings, plates, or hardware.
  • Inspect the equipment prior to leaving the premises and report any defects to the Owner.
  • Exercise caution and adhere to safe practices at all times. Not lend, transfer, or sub-hire the equipment to any other person.
  • Comply with all relevant laws, safety guidelines, and venue rules while using the equipment.
  • Damage, Loss, or Theft The Renter is financially responsible for:
    - Any damage beyond normal wear and tear
    - Loss of any equipment Theft of equipment, regardless of circumstances
    - Repair or replacement costs will be determined by the Owner based on current market value.


    Assumption of Risk
  • The Renter acknowledges that roller skating is a physical activity involving a risk of injury, and that use of the equipment is entirely at the Renter’s own risk.

    By paying this deposit you agree to this this Agreement, the Renter voluntarily:
  • Accepts all risks associated with the use of the equipment
  • Takes full responsibility for any injury, accident, or harm occurring during the period of hire
  • Agrees that the Owner is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained during or as a result of equipment use
  • Releases the Owner from any liability arising from such use

    Indemnity
  • The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Skate Scholarship, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from the Renter’s use or misuse of the equipment.


Failure to Return Equipment

  • ​​​​​​​ If the Renter fails to return the equipment by the agreed date and time: Additional hire charges may apply.
  • After 7 days past the due date, the equipment may be classed as lost, and the Renter will be charged the full replacement cost

  • Termination The Owner reserves the right to refuse or terminate the hire at any time if the Renter breaches the terms of this Agreement.
